Dear Old Stockholm
This arrangement draws its inspiration from the small group recording by Phil
Woods and Gene Quill. After the alto and trombone solos, there is a saxophone
soli that is a harmonized version of Phil Woods' solo. This arrangement was
featured at the 2014 Northwest Big Band Workshop. Band director, Craig Buhler,
sent this note following the performance:
"Dear Jeff, The entire band at Northwest Big Band Workshop wishes to express
their deep appreciation to you for your outstanding chart to "Dear Old
Stockholm." We used it to close the show, and it was a huge hit. '

This is a fantastic tune by George Cables. The arrangement is inspired by
numerous solo versions that George has recorded and by a duo version he did
with saxophonist, Frank Morgan.

The Little Boy With The Sad Eyes
This is a great tune by Nat Adderley that is infrequently played. The
arrangement is inspired by this live recording by the Cannonball Adderley
group. The brass soli is a harmonized excerpt from Nat Adderley's solo and
the saxes have a harmonized version of Cannonball's solo.
